Plug Spawn - Lion's Mane

Each pack come with 50 hard wood plugs fully engulfed with Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus) mycelium. Each plug is hard wood dowel 5/16" dia. by 1" long.
 
All you have to do to grow your own favorite mushrooms is drill some 5/16" or 11/32" holes in a fresh, hard wood log about inch and a half deep, and then tap in one plug per hole using a hammer. Some people like to cover the holes with bee’s wax, but I find that is optional for wood dowel plugs. That's it!
 
Now just sit back and let nature do all the work. Depending on log size, weather conditions, etc., it will take 6-12 months to get your first flush of mushrooms.  Usually, a good time to do plugs is late summer or fall, so when next season comes around, you'll get mushrooms during its natural fruiting season.
